This year we are focusing on ‘Going Green in Brean’. We acknowledge and recognize that our operations have an impact on the environment and are committed to continuous environmental improvement and work to enhance the value of our Resort for wildlife.
For day out trips using car free itineraries please follow the link to Visit Somerset website.
Our responsibility doesn't just stop at providing the best possible holiday experience for you, your family and friends. We are continuously looking at new ways of helping the environment and working towards a sustainable future
We are proud of our David Bellamy Silver Award and there are many ways our guests can help whilst on holiday with us:-
1. Use the bin. Please use bins provided around the Resort for waste on the floor not only looks un-slightly but is both harmful to animals and to the environment.
2. Recycle. You will find recycle points for segregated waste -Adjacent to the amenity block on our yellow, green and brown touring fields. At Costcutter Supermarket, and at the Leisure Park caravan hiring area.
3. Save water. Please do not leave taps running unnecessarily. Only use the minimum amount of water needed when bathing and washing.
4. Switch Off. Please turn off lights when you go out.
5. Save energy Please turn off electrical appliances at the plug when not in use – this includes leaving the TV on standby.
6. Leave nesting birds in peace particularly near the pond, ditch banks and sand dunes.
7. Shop locally. We choose suppliers that are local in order to support the local community and to give you a taste of Somerset and keep the South West special.
8. Re-use your carrier bags! Either for your swim gear or for your shop at our Costcutter Supermarket.
What are we doing to help reduce our carbon footprint???
We are setting up a ‘Green Team’ comprised of team members to discuss and implement Green ideas.
Electricity- Where possible we use low energy bulbs and keep unnecessary lighting usage around the resort down to minimum. In the amenity blocks we have motion activated lights.
Recycling- Last year we improved our reclying facilites on Resort. With more recycling points and larger/ clearer bins. These are collected by an approved contractor and taken to a recycling point.
Water - We have created our own bore hole on the golf course allowing us to access water from the source. The only problem at present being it is heavily salted preventing use on the golf course. We are however looking at other ways of using/ treating this water. You will find push taps in the amenity block which stops taps being left running. Many or our unrinal systems are now motion activated as oppose to running automatically. We are currently looking at rain water collecting methods to be able to re-use for plant watering/ dog washing etc.
Wildlife - We are looking to attract more wildlife on the Resort and encourage natural habitats. We already have many rabbits native on the Resort and golf course and we are looking at other measures to improve wildlife on the Resort.
Finally - Please help us to care for the environment by recycling when possible, and by being conscious of your electric and water usage.
THANK YOU……

About our awards-
The Green Tourism Business Scheme awards businesses who have proven that they care for the local environment and community. There are three levels of the award (gold, silver and bronze). We currently have achieved bronze level.
The David Bellamy Conservation Award is given to holiday parks that demonstrate policies showing active concern for the environment. Assisted by local nature groups and holidaymakers themselves, the award looks at virtually every aspect of park management - from the protection of plant and animal habitats to the efficient use of energy and recycling
As part of Future Footprints we support keeping the South West of England special. We use many local suppliers for our produce. The South West is renowned for its excellent local produce and quality products. Buying local gives you true taste of the South West, support the local economy and reduces the distance food and goods are transported.
