For those that may not know, we own a few racehorses that we have in training with local trainers in Somerset.  This spring, two of our mares, Gertie Getaway (pictured) and Eardisland, both who have been in training with Philip Hobbs in Minehead, have produced healthy foals.  Gertie has had a filly and Eardisland a colt, both as yet unnamed.  Bertie Boru, in training with Carroll Gray in Moorland, has had a couple of runs but so far the conditions haven’t suited him, though he came fourth at Exeter on 7th May.  Our Point to Point horses have each had a few runs and been placed, and Bet on Betty and Longshanks look like they will be transferring to National Hunt racing this autumn.

Sunshine Farm is open daily between 9.30 and 10.30am and 4.00 and 5.00pm, where we also have new arrivals which include two kune kune pigs, three lambs, and two goats that we have named Toffee and Humbug, so if you are staying with us then, be sure to pop over and have a look.

Brean Country Club is now fully open and operational, with great food offerings and fantastic views across The Mendips and Somerset countryside.  It’s open to residents and non-residents, and is also the new home for members of Brean Golf Club.  You can pop in for a drink, or breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and an evening meal, with children’s menus available.  There is lift access to the first floor restaurant and terrace. The downstairs offers an informal area to meet for coffee and drinks, ideal to meet friends or for an informal business meeting.

The new luxury lodges at the development are in place and we have been waiting for some of the grass to grow, but the weather has been quite dry and cold since the warm Easter weekend.  Three lodges have been sold, but there are still some premium plots available and the sales team are available seven days a week for viewings. From June, we will have site owned lodges available to hire for holiday use at the development.

For anyone that stays with us that is a member of Brean Seasonal Caravanners, now Brean Country Club is open, the former golf clubhouse has been turned into a BSC Members’ Bar.  Currently it is just open at the weekends, but as we progress into the season we hope to extend the opening hours for the main school summer holidays.

Some new static caravan pitches have been allocated at the back of Yellow Field, so if you are looking to upgrade your holiday home, why not take advantage of one of these new pitches?

For owners, we have some great events taking place this year, including a Golf Tournament on 25th May, John’s Football Gaming Challenge on 1st June and the ever popular Owners’ Pool Party on 13th July.  If you haven’t received your copy of the full Owners’ Events Programme yet, then pop along and see the Holiday Home Sales Team to make sure you don’t miss out.
