All aboard for a great day out! Thomas the Tank Engine is visiting the south west and has plenty of activities for you to join in with at West Somerset Railway. Running from the 1st to the 3rd July, families can join Thomas and the gang for a great day out.
Roughly an hour and a half away from our campsite, here’s what you can expect from Thomas and friends.
Alight here for fun
Choose to head straight to Minehead Station, or aboard a real steam or diesel train at Bishops Lydeard and travel in style to see Thomas. On the train, there’ll be ‘Day Out With Thomas’ colouring activities, and plenty of sights to be seen from the window, including Williton’s engine works.
Leave the train at Minehead Station, and meet the Fat Controller, Thomas, Daisy the Diesel, and others, as well as get involved with activities there. There will be free face paint, games, screening of Thomas DVDs, and that’s just the start of it!
Get a delicious snack at Mrs Kyndley’s tea room and watch the engines get turned on the turntable.
After you’ve enjoyed your day, you can pop into The Buffer Stop Shop to buy souvenirs and Thomas toys for memories of your great day out.
To enjoy the train ride, you can buy a family ticket for £60 (2 adults and 2 children) or pay £23 per adult, £20 for a senior ticket, £11.50 for children aged between 2 and 15. Entrance to Minehead Station on the day costs £7.50 for adults and £5 for children.
