Double-winners at this year’s Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards

We were delighted to pick up two awards at this year’s Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards, which were showcased to a capacity audience of the best tourism businesses from across the region, with 70 trophies being presented to the winners at Somerset County Cricket Club on 9th November.

In the category of Holiday Park of the year, we picked up the Silver award and the comments we received from the judges were that we are an “exceptional park with wonderful facilities” and “Immaculate with plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Customer service seems to be very high on the agenda – something they should be really proud of. I would have no hesitation in recommending this park in the future”
One judge actually stated they would be booking up for a holiday themselves next year!

We also picked up the Silver accolade in the category of Access and Inclusivity, which we are very proud of. In 2017 we invested £40,000 on two new, state of the art accessible holiday homes, which have widened doorways, lowered surfaces, fully adapted bathrooms and hoists. Going forward, we are working towards more improvements to make sure that Holiday Resort Unity can be accessible to all and cate for a wide variety of people with both physical and psychological issues, such as Dementia.

As a result of these, we will now be fast tracked into the South West Tourism Excellence Awards in February 2018 and then possibly on to the National Visit England Awards later in 2018.

These two awards add to the other accreditations we have received this year –Gold in the David Bellamy Conservation Awards, the 5 in 5 Hedge Habitat Badge, and official “Honey Bee Friendly” holiday park.
